Title: "For A Breath, A Kiss ..."
POTC
Rating: G
Characters: J/W
Disclaimer: I do not own these characters nor do I make a profit off their representation.
Summary: AU take on the AWE scene where Jack sends Will on his way to Beckett.
A/N: Based on the [livejournal.com profile] blackpearlsails prompt "You've made a big mistake." I cannot post it there, but I liked the idea.

Sparrow swooped in, waiting for Turner to stumble back into the ocean. Instead, Will narrowed his gaze to Jack’s eyes, brow furrowed.

So, Jack kissed him. The boy’s lips went as rigid as the teeth behind them. Jack swiped the tip of his tongue across the closed seam, minutely parting them with each pass, until they opened, another tongue meeting his own. He tasted metal and smoke and unused passion, lost in confusing sensation.

Fingertips stroking his jawline reminded Jack of his goal. With one last lick, he shoved Will’s chest, inhaling the whoosh of night air – with intense regret.

Last Saturday, some local friends invited me to a picnic for their Dr. Who meeting group, which I was glad to be able to go (it's always better for me to be able to combine activities to justify spending the gas for a 100-mile round trip - such as seeing a movie and this, for example). The members were very gracious to let someone they didn't know very well crash their party - I traded oatmeal cookies for fried chicken, chips, salad, and 7-UP. :-D And of course, games and fun (which I always feel sort of weird during games, since I actually like sitting on the side and watching and occasionally throwing in my two cents from the peanut gallery, almost more than playing, LOL).

Anyway, I took many photos; I'm making this post public so that non-friends from the area can also see them (and if you take any photos, please leave a comment letting me know you're local so I can friend you if I haven't). For the same reason, I'm not putting names to these photos (and also because I don't know some of the people in them).

You'll notice many photos of our tiny new friend The Praying Mantis, who couldn't get enough of one of our other friends. The more she tried to discourage him, the more the tiny insect kept trying to run up on her arm, and back, and hair! I think he was in love - somebody finally had to carry him to a tree so he could find one of his own kind. (It sort of reminded me of the brokenhearted girl squirrel in Disney's "The Sword in the Stone" cartoon, when she finds out Wart is a boy, not a squirrel.)

Anyway ... on to the photos. Clicking on each should bring up the larger image. )
