Medical advice sought, and Stargate stuff

Does anyone have any experience with having cysts or tumors removed from hands, wrists, joints? My sister is facing that possibility and it's of special concern because unlike a lot of people, she can't simply switch to using her left hand more while her right one would be incapacitated. (If you do have advice, it might be best to give it directly to her and not leave it here, because I'd just pass it on to her anyway.) Thanks in advance.
