I am SO over it
May. 23rd, 2007 09:01 amMy cable service, that is. The cable company's been telling me for a month and a half that the reason I'm geting crappy service is that the wiring in my building is old and the management company won't agree for the cable company to replace it. So, the cable technician and I have hobbled it along for several weeks, jury-rigging it so I can have Internet, until two days ago, it just went out completely and refuses to hook up at all. My management company tells me "it's in the signing process" and replacement could begin as early as next week.
Sure. Whatever.
I'm over it. So today, I may have been foolish - I don't know - but I ordered DirecTV because there are no DSL providers in my area (and even if there were, the phone lines in my building are also crap, apparently - I was told that the first day the cable people showed up to install). It includes something called Wild Blue satellite Internet service. Does anyone else have these services? Do they work well? Am I stupid? Tell me things to look out for ...
(And yes, this is probably part of my crankiness the past couple of days. Sorry if I've offended anyone unnecessarily in fandom. I'm just over all this on top of trying to get used to a new state and city and job and trying to make friends after only a couple of months. No, I have no stress, why do you ask?)
