Summary: A Turner goes to sea

Each night, he’d fallen asleep to the box’s steady thrumming. It had been constant for seven years, since he traded the heartbeat of his womb for the reassuring wooden thunk of his father’s next to his small bed.

Now it swayed with him on the vast ocean. Mama said he couldn’t be harmed upon the sea. It had been simple to cast offshore in the rowboat while she and Captain Jack slept – to be free, like Mama wanted to be.

William ran a small hand over the top of the chest as he excitedly waited to meet Papa, at last.

I have issue with Jack ending up with Elisabeth. But I am putting that aside because...WELL DONE! OMG. That just....tear. Eye. Beautiful! :)
