Am I the only one who thinks Trump leaked those 2 pages of his 2005 tax return himself to the press in order to distract people protesting the GOP Obamacare replacement disaster?

I mean, there's no itemized details or paperwork attached to the return. It's 12 years old. It's probably the most taxes the man has ever paid in one single year - he probably just thought What'll get the peasants with pitchforks off my ass the quickest? and had it delivered. It's enough to further piss off those already against him but not enrage anyone who supported him who might have been wavering in that support of late because of the shitty, shitty GOP health plan thing ("He paid $38 million! That's a LOT!!" Yeah, asshole, it's about 25 percent; tell me, how much of a percentage of your $50,000 or less salary do YOU pay into federal income tax? Not too far from that I'd wager).

Oh, and for those of you still on LJ who can't get enough GOP-bashing from just me: [livejournal.com profile] pir8fancier is also posting regular screeds. Check them out. You'll like them.

Of course he leaked them. Today is allegedly the day that the FBI is announcing whether or not to move forward with an investigation of Trump/Russian ties. They haven't done so yet and I wonder if they are postponing it. If they wait a couple of days, then this NON-event will have lost its momentum, and the real story can take center stage. Given what I've seen on Maddow, I cannot believe that the FBI wouldn't move forward. The ties between Trump Russian oligarchs who funded his business when the U.S. banks wouldn't fund him anymore BECAUSE OF HIS FUCKING BANKRUPCIES are obvious. Per the WP today, the Repubs are getting irritated. Even Nunes (a California congressman who was on Trump's transition team and is supposedly leading the investigation in the house-hahahahaha) is pissed because these wild Twitter rants are now falling on the shoulders of the house and senate (Graham is pissed, too). They are putting it back in Trump's court and we know where that will lead. And I find Pence's comments about how he supports Trump unequivocally is so much bullshit. At what point does the GOP can him and move Pence into the position they want. They should do it soon so that it takes the spotlight away from the dumpster fire health care bill. Republicans used to be smart. How did we get such stupid politicians? I believe they need something juicy, REAL juicy, to can him and they are praying that the FBI does it soon. Trump's approval rating according to Gallop is now down to 38%. How low does he go? The more noise about Trumpcare, the lower he's going to go.

Yeah, I didn't even mention the Russian thing - that's such an ongoing albatross that it's kind of fallen into the part of my memory of "more of the asshole being an asshole" with misogyny, racism, xenophobia, and general "being human garbage" that is associated with him and his familiars.

Watching from the UK where, gods help us, we have our own form of stupid in charge, I still can't quite figure out whether he did it on purpose, by accident, by design or out of idiocy.

All I can say is if you want asylum, we've got a spare room.
