You know I want to say "four more years," but I don't like to be premature. No use tempting another 2000 situation, all, no matter if all the networks agree right now.

I will say, I'm glad to see those two rape apologist mofos defeated, Warren and Baldwin winning the Senate, and gay marriage legalized in Maryland by the populace (which, frankly, the majority shouldn't "decide" civil rights anyway, but whatever).

/off to ponder fanfic in progress

ETA: That was a gracious concession speech. Good job, Mitt. (Then again, I never got the feeling Mitt really wanted the job all that badly. He doesn't need the work. The Ryans, on the other hand, looked kind of crushed.)

I don't see anything wrong with the majority deciding to expand civil rights. It's when they vote to restrict them that issues arise. The Maryland issue was originally passed in the legislature until a petition forced it onto the ballot, anyway.

When you give the majority the opportunity to expand civil rights by a vote, you also give them the chance to deny it. Imagine putting to.a vote 50 years ago whether to keep "colored" facilities or not....

A number of the whack jobs have been defeated. Baldwin bested Thompson and Walsh went down as well.

Let it be a mandate against crazy extremism of any sort. It doesn't work to govern 300 million people.

His wife looked sadder, I think, than he did. She's no Jill Biden, that's for sure.

Excuse me, Dr. Biden.
