Is anyone else having trouble loading LJ today and yesterday, or is it just me? I hope it's not just me.

Went to see "Captain America" last night. Tommy Lee Jones is the best thing ever. "I'm not going to kiss you." "Later, you and I are going to have a conversation you're not going to enjoy."

And, damn fandomsecrets for giving me "First Class" Charles/Erik story recommendations. I don't need another fandom. It's McAvoy's fault. Dammit, you Scottish bastard.

It loaded through satellite on my phone; it wouldn't load on the phone or the laptop through my work ISP. But it loads fine at home. Go figure.

James McAvoy IS uber adorable - in spite of his Charles Xavier being kind of a dick. :-p ('Fraid Erik/Fassbender(?) leaves me cold, so no new X-men fannishness for me, though that 5 second scene with Wolverine thrilled me no end. XD )

Didn't know Tommy Lee Jones was in Capt Am. That's definitely a point in it's favor. (I wasn't planning to go see it. I may reconsider.)

I did try to load lj yesterday with no luck. (And I checked at the http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ several times. It kept telling me it was down for everyone until I gave up.) No problems today, though.

Xavier IS a dick, but I think it's important to the character that you see how he could have been if he hadn't been taken down somewhat by being shot and not having all the advantages anymore. Of course, in addition to being a dick, he's also not in favor of mutant violence or oppression of regular humans - it's a balancing act. Whereas Erik is an asshole, but you can see WHY he's an asshole - and being with Charles and the others shows that he does have the capability to care, to make friends and see another POV (when he wants to).

Damn, I need to watch "Wanted" again so I can see Angelina Jolie beat the crap out of McAvoy. ;-) They made that movie, along with Morgan Freeman's "motherfucker!"

"Wanted" is on my McAvoy-to-watch list. As is that first Narnia film. (What? I'm into Tolkien, not Lewis.)

And lj was being a pain again this morning. I could access it, but it was sssssssloooooooooooooooowww... It's fine so far this evening, though. *shrugs* Can't wait to see what happens tomorrow.

You should definitely see Wanted. It's not the best dramatic movie ever made, but it's an example of what happens when you put really good actors in a mediocre vehicle.

Saw Captain America on Saturday -- great summer flick! :) Loved TLJ, too. "He's still skinny." XD I hope you waited till the end of the credits and saw the extra scene!! :)

Since the LJ thing is seemingly more cleared up, I'm gonna focus on that last paragraph - what have you found? I literally JUST finished one by mistyzeo (http://mistyzeo.livejournal.com/157526.html) and I'm reading a WIP AU - they're frat boys - that's pretty funny (http://gyzym.livejournal.com/101616.html).

I've always been a casual X-Men fan, just like I was a casual Pirates fan before I found you and some other authors. And, just like that (but on a smaller scale), I'm becoming completely hooked!

Well, I did a search for McAvoy on the LJ "Interest" field and came up with just a couple of comms so far, but they're apparently prolific. Also, you should try AO3, lots of stuff there.

I just joined both of those, because I'm ridiculous. And it looks like they each have a few affiliates that are specific to Charles/Erik. If I notice that any of those, or anything else, has better stuff, I'll pass it on post haste.
