In true fashion, we'll go with bad news first. You don't impose or uphold tort reform to protect rapists. NO. NO. NO. NONONONONONO. Just - NO. Wow, this should've been a unanimous vote. WTF?
In good news - the National Association of Free Clinics is trying to fund some special free clinics in states of Democratic senators still against a public option. I believe the goal is five free clinics in addition to the group's regular work, and they've already gotten enough donations to fund two. If you have insurance through your employer, spouse's employer or otherwise, please consider donating even just $10 to help people who don't. (I spent years unable to afford health insurance and not having it through an employer despite working three concurrent part-time jobs. Now, I have insurance. But there are still tens of millions of people in the U.S. who do not.)
