reverse-engineering fic

Sometimes, I've mentioned before, I get an idea for a story from a song. Well, in this case it finally occurred to me that a POTC J/W fic I read a few years ago reminded me of a George Michael song from the 90s. The story is a modern AU NC-17 called A Shot Through Time (if you like J/W, you will either love it or hate it - there is a character death warning; personally, I love it. This is one of those dark fics, without pretension or apology).

That was amazing. I had never heard that song before, or read the story, so the two combined in my head to make a whole.

Incredible story. Wow. And referenced one of my all-time favorite movies, Dead Again.

I just adore 'A Shot Through Time' - before the whole Captain Turner being immortal business from AWE this was exactly how I saw them, making their way through time to find each other again and again in an effort to get their lifetime together.

The song is a perfect fit with the fic.
