I spent a little time this evening working on some avatars while my stomach hurt and I couldn't do much else (just so you understand why I took a stab at a visual medium when I am clearly no artist *G*). I've seen the joke icon before of the "POTC Musical" because it looked like the character was yelling or singing - well, a LOT of these characters look like they're yelling or singing at least once in the series, I've noticed. So, I got an idea; if you'd like to take one or more of these to use, feel free. I just had a good time making them. :-)

Yes, I know some of these are a bit dark; I don't have PhotoShop or Elements. Just Paint. You may be able to lighten one you like a tidge, but I don't think they're too bad.

At any rate, please do not hotlink - if you want one or more, please save them to your own hard drive and upload them to LiveJournal or your own hosting service. (I made two of Norrington because there are some who prefer the Navy man and others who prefer Scruffington.)

Some are not so obvious, if somebody outside the fandom (but who still knows POTC) were looking at just one used somewhere - my personal favorite in that category is the one of Groves yelling at Beckett. But some are pretty good, like Will's or Barbossa's or Norrington's.

Like I said before, these are a bloody riot!!

I love them all lined up, side by side. Especially the parrot, that's a hoot!

Now all we need is a little parody to go with them...

The one of him throwing his head back? That was a tricky one to find ...

Yup. If you want, I could make an animated one of the principals together (Jack, Will, Liz, Norrie, Barbossa and anyone else you might want.)

LOL, the parrot and dog, even! Barbossa looks like he's singing a sweet little melody.

At least he doesn't have the role of "The Eunuch." We hope. ;-)

I wish I knew opera well. Somebody suggested I should write a parody and give each character a name/title. (I said I supposed Will would be The Eunuch, LOL. But I'm not sure what the operatic equivalent would be, of a Greek chorus, for Pinters and Rags.)

I had a different one and then I came across that. I had to scrap the other ...

I like Ragetti, checking his words.

Now see ... if that monkey wasn't so damn dark, it was you I thought of when I made that one.

Thought it was my monitor - everything tends to show up too dark on here.
But thanks for the thought :)
PS Love 'smarmy bad guy' Beckett in your current userpic immensely.

If you look on my user info page and click on the "view all userpics" and there's a credit on this icon, you're welcome to take it and credit to whomever's name is on it (that is, if I even knew who to credit it to ... I don't remember, it's been a while). There was a reversed one too, Bloom/Depp, that was pretty humorous - but I figure Johnny has more experience and is of legal age, anyway. *G*

Don't write off Cthulhu just yet!

Not to mention a natural born US citizen, which, IIRC, lovely Bloom is not (but we mustn't question our candidates for VP too much now, must we?;)

Hey, we've already established we can have a hottie for a VP candidate. Citizenship abolition shouldn't be that far behind ...

I like the Mistress Ching icon- she looks so much like an actual Opera singer you could practically pass her off as one.

I know - she puts me in mind of the kabuki of Japan, even if she is Chinese. I wonder if she could sing like that for five hours straight? Or be a man? *G*

> Or be a man? <

She was portrayed by Takayo Fischer, so that seems unlikely.

Trivia: Ms. Fischer has also done extensive voice work, and played a court clerk on eight episodes of 'Boston Legal.' Sans makeup and glower, she's actually quite a nice-looking person.

Yes! Grooves is the most opera-y for sure. Pintel is great also. And Liz with here 'fire-y' voice - voice? Jack looks like a buck-toothed rabbit however.

*snerk* I'm particularly fond of the dog and Barbossa. Thank you!

So who's the phantom? ;)

OK....now you get me thinking who of them would be what voice and who of the opera singers I know they'd sound like...You're evil.

I aim to please ... or at least to perplex ...

And I would say Bill is the phantom. He drags around and moans the best.
