the audacity of hope

What a great speech. I confess I still have my reservations about Obama and Biden (especially Biden, who seems to see nothing wrong with fighting Russia. Does he know they're military buddies with China now? I do). Obama because of lack of experience - this can be a good thing, but I just want to know he can work with everybody and charm his opponents into enacting laws good for the country. That's my sole objection, really.
But the speeches this week have been really moving, I'll give them that. (I say that, because you can SAY anything, but not everybody is as blunt as I am, and I tend to be suspicious of anyone who is too cheery or hopeful.) I would like to hope along with everyone else. I won't go into detail when I say life over the past several years in the U.S. has kicked quite a few people I know in the gut - job-wise, health-wise (for not having insurance when sick in spite of working and paying taxes). Yeah, me too. I think getting up every morning and going forward is a hope in itself ... and there are days that's really all you can do when you reach a certain age and realize the fairytale doesn't always happen no matter how hard you wish. *G*
The next 70 days will be something. As the Chinese say, may you live in interesting times. Can I have boring old security back? ;-)
ETA: Wanna read the speech? It's here.
