So, what are the Americans on ye old f-list doing this weekend? I may pop in to a sci-fi con nearby with local friends who help run it, if I feel ambitious enough to get up early and spend the gas money tomorrow. Yay!

And, because it's relatively cheap, I'll be reading LJ, I suppose. (All I can say is it looks like a chock-filled entertaining weekend already shaping up. I'll wisely refrain from further comment until there's a good reason not to. *G*)

But I'll definitely be peeking at lj; there's a Torchwood WIP that went all 'fanfic trope' on me - the last chapter was supposed to be put up last night. *grumbles* (It suddenly went from 'psychoanalytic!fic with a fascinating take on some obscure canon' to 'Wing!fic' with the ninth chapter. Shaking my head in amazement. Not just at the comments about Barbossa, but the ones about Lizzie. Especially the one where he is "mentoring" her because he realizes she can kick his ass or something to that effect. Might have been the same one that referred to Will as a clod for defending Lizzie's honor.

I stopped reading shortly after that.

As I recall, that "clod" kept her from being gang-raped twice in CotBP (or killed); put himself in danger to obtain an object to get her out of jail in DMC *and* trusted her to shoot rum barrels out from under him and to guard an important chest/heart; and kept her at least a couple of times in AWE, from being shot or stabbed. That inconsiderate slob.

I'm going to spend some quality time with the ducklings. I've been taking them out about the yard after work, but by the time I get home, the sun's gone behind the trees and the mosquitoes are out. Tomorrow, I'm going to fill a big plastic tub for them and give 'em a POOL PARTY. And there will be pictures. Oh, yes.

Working, but then I get Saturday off. Not doing anything then either though, I had my adventure earlier this week - car problems including having to rent a car to travel to a company meeting, then returning to find my car had a flat tire, which had supposedly been fixed.

Spent a good part of my day yesterday morning/afternoon dealing with that. Best thing to come out of it was visiting/having lunch with the friend who ended up helping me. We hadn't talked for a while. I lucked out, their family left for Florida today!

But I need some down time now. Might experiment with my new camera more.

We ended up staying home and watching fireworks on tv. Boston was really cool. :)

They banned fireworks here too, I can't remember the last time I actually went to a fireworks show in person, lol.
