Have you guys heard about the Oliver Stone movie about Bush that's supposedly being made? Slate has what it claims is an early review of the script; there's always the fun casting game to play (check out who's already been cast); and hell, even Wonkette weighs in on whether this is just a hoax after all.

More movie stuffs: I'm trying to think of titles of films that are about farms or the business of agriculture. We're talking well-known movies that I'm just unable to think of off the top of my head (other than "Field of Dreams" and "Babe"). Any help? Just leave some titles in the comments; think of it as a meme of sorts ...

There's 'A Thousand Acres,' which I think is an update of King Lear? I'm pretty sure it takes place on a farm.

'The Cider House Rules' might sort of count. 'Charlotte's Web.' 'My Friend Flicka' (the original and the remake). 'The Horse Whisperer.' The Lassie remake from the '90s - the movie's big plot is the family moving from the city to start a sheep farm, it's pretty involved in the process as opposed to just taking place on a farm.

OMG! How could I have forgotten 'Milo and Otis' and 'Where the Red Fern Grows'? (It appears I enjoyed farm movies as a child.) Also - and here I'm just going by DVD covers, as I haven't seen these movies - maybe 'The Misfits' and 'Giant'?

There's also the animated version of 'Animal Farm'. If I think of any others I'll pop back :)

Funny Farm really isn't about a farm, but it is pretty great.
Also, Chicken Run and even Wallace and Grommit: The Curse of the WereRabbit. I almost forgot the classic comedy of Son in Law. And, if you're really wanting to push it, the Anne of Green Gables series does take place in a farming community and on a farm.
Oh, I almost forgot East of Eden.

As for the Oliver Stone Bush movie, yeah I've heard about it. *eh*

"Places in the Heart"? Sally Field. 80s flick. Cotton farming. (iirc)

There seem to be some that involve farms kinda tangentially, like "A League of Their Own," but I'm guessing you want The Farm to be central.

State Fair (Oh I know, all I owe, I owe Iowa!)
Oklahoma (The corn is as high as an elephant's thigh!)
Does Wizard of Oz count? Or Gone with the Wind?

Edit: Or is it elephant's EYE? I'm too lazy to look it up.

Or is it elephant's EYE?
It would be the pachyderm's ocular apparatus. I think you probably couldn't even say "thigh" in Code Hollywood movies.

Does Wizard of Oz count? Or Gone with the Wind?
I think so. I was going to post them.
