Old movie scripts

Question: Do any of you know where I might find online a script for an old movie from the 60s? It's "Hatari" and stars John Wayne. I've tried Drew's (a free online database) with no luck.

I'm looking for a free version I could print out, ideally ... any suggestions?

I have no idea, but that movie is in my netflix queue! I think my kids will like it. I remember loving the music as a kid.

I know this sounds dumb, but did you just try a google search, or wiki?

Google gave me beans. So did Wiki's external links feature. Drew's didn't have it. So, I resorted to ye old f-list ...

I've got a few script sites bookmarked, but none of them have what you're looking for. In fact, all the movies under 'H' on all of sites, seem to be the exact same ones.

Everything I read, indicated that the script was written somewhat after-the-fact by Howard Hawks once he had returned to California with footage in the can. More importantly, though, the script (such as it is) was credited to Leigh Brackett, the most important female Science Fiction author outside of Andre Norton (both of whom were writing the genre when it was still mostly a boys' only club.)

Not helpful to you but I found it interesting. (LB also wrote the script for my favorite John Wayne western of all time--Rio Bravo. That Ricky Nelson and Dean Martin were just MADE for each other.;)
