One of my colleagues are deeply into herbal medicine. She swears by Cold-FX, which is North American ginseng, and licorice tea with honey. Licorice is apparently an expectorant and honey coats the tissues of the throat, which she says not only soothes them, but actually kills the bacteria which cannot perform osmosis(?) because of the coating on the cell walls.
Which part of it? Cold-fx is little pills. Licorice tea can be found in bags and the honey is good part. Just don't overdo it. There's actually a kind of tea called Breathe Easy or something which contains licorice and eucalyptus and whatever that works well, although it's really hard for me to get down. It's not that it tastes bad, just not what I fancy.
Listen, I actually work better when I'm sick or doped up, because I'm so dulled that I'm willing to do anything, no matter the time constraints or problems - I came this close today to volunteering to write something about market futures, on production day, and I didn't even resent it.
