I'm not sure what's funnier - "BEETLEJUICE!" or McCain constantly hinting around that Bush has a busy schedule and, gee, it'd be nice if he could find the time to campaign, but gosh, McCain KNOWS how busy his new friend is with homework.

"Who could forget the oil crisis of the 90s? 'Oh no! It's too cheap! I want to drink and bathe in it!'"

You have to laugh. If you don't, you will play into Dad's prediction - "Oil'll go down, all right. It'll go down after the banks fold and people start shooting themselves in the head and jumping off buildings, and they figure out they'd rather sell 1,000 gallons for a dime than nothing for $6 or so. The oil companies are the new mafia."

EDIT: Not all of you know Dad, so I guess it would help if I told you the man has voted Republican his entire life and is about as conservative, chauvinistic, racist, homophobic as you can get. But he's been criticizing this war since the outset. I'm fairly sure he didn't vote for Kerry last time; I suspect he didn't vote at all.

I remember the oil crisis of the 90s. I was so shocked at having to fork over more than $10 for a fill-up, I started keeping a log. (We're getting dangerously close to $30 these days.)

Rand McNally After Dark rocks! lol!

I remember that episode! JD gets all edumacated and nobody wants to argue the war anymore.

Your car must have a thimble for a gas tank. At current prices, mine's going to be close to $50, I expect. *cries*

I have not seen the episode. I couldn't even tell you what season it might be in. But when I saw this icon I had to have it. (I am hopelessly hooked on the show now. One of the reruns today was giving off some powerful M*A*S*H vibes. I went ahead and ordered the first season from Amazon. If the price there stays at $20 per season for a few months, I'm sure I'll eventually own all of 'em. So I may yet produce that crack!fic. Be very afraid. :-p)

My car has either a 9 or a 10 gallon tank. (So, yeah, thimble.) And it still gets pretty good gas millage. *pets trusty Ford/Kia* *g*

Well, good - you can mill right up to Chicago with no problems later this year, then ...

"Scrubs" is very like MASH, except with fantasy sequences. Wait'll you see the episodes with Michael J. Fox, and all the ones with Martin Klebba as the janitor's co-worker, Randall Winston. ("Scrubs" is made by the same people who made "Spin City" and occasionally has guest stars from SC - one of the producers, I think, is named Randall Winston.)

Yep. Lee Arenberg's in another episode ... and more than once JD waxes poetic about how cool pirates are ...

Whenever Bush opens his mouth I want to beat him down with a blunt object. There are not many in this world who incite me to violence but....jeebus, seriously? You hadn't HEARD? WHAT PLANET DO YOU LIVE ON? It could not possibly be this one.

And the thing that makes Stewart fabulous? That he makes me laugh about it when I'd really like to cry.

To the Bushes, it doesn't matter precisely what a gallon of gas costs, because IT'S NOT A PROBLEM FOR THEM TO AFFORD. Seriously. I now have subsidized health insurance through work, but that doesn't mean I don't remember/know what self-insurance costs. Jesus.

IN THE LEAD WHEN IT COMES TO GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE? IN THE LEAD WHEN IT COMES TO GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE? IN THE LEAD WHEN IT COMES TO GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE??

Ohhhhhh, he sees that we're responsible for a vast majority of the GHG emissions and thinks, "We're winning!" D:
