Someone asked why Mom looks so haggard ... look at how the kids are behaving, staying close to her and not acting like wild animals. GOOD parenting requires some expenditure of energy, especially if you have two on the hoof who are under the age of 10! LOL

Yeah, their daughter is probably going to be a stunner. I'd say the boy could go either way. Based on that pic, he could possibly wind up very odd-looking. :-P (But, I've always considered Johnny to be a bit odd-looking - depending on his hair, makeup, accessories - and I don't mean when he's dressed up for a role. *shrugs* I think he looks his best when in full Jack Sparrow costume. :D)

I expect the tight-lipped expression is for the photographer. But, who knows, maybe it's been a hard day with the kids, too ...

I dunno, Jack looks ... well, just like a boy. Very few are particularly stunning at that age. Even Orlando was just kind of cute, mostly in his grin. He could grow up to look just like Dad (Johnny does look kind of like that in his childhood photos, BTW). I've always figured Johnny looks as good as he does because he takes advantage of products and services that are available to him to maintain his good looks - cosmetics to a point maybe, but also good food, exercise, skin products and treatments, and hair products. Without those, I can definitely see just beneath the exterior the potential for another NASCAR redneck. ;-)

In most interviews, he likes to brag about eating junk food. And he obviously smokes like a chimney (in video interviews). Though I'm sure he does take advantage of all the free products and quality trainers and whatever massages and treatments are put in his way. (His inner redneck just prefers to downplay all the pampering. :-p)

I always feel uncomfortable looking at pics of Johnny's kids. Not that I'm trying to make you take them down, it's just that since I know Johnny hates having people take pics of his kids without permission, it makes me sort of go "should I be looking at this?"

They're out on a public thoroughfare, which means they're fair game for photos from a respectful distance (as in, not right up in their faces). I take pictures like this all the time at shows and conventions and ... well, on the street, to publish in our papers. It's OK. :-)

Holy cats, Jack looks an awful lot like Johnny did as a kid, I think. And Lillie Rose is gorgeous!

I know J & V don't like pix of their kids taken or posted, but I have to admit it's fun seeing what the kids look like, occasionally.

I figure anyone out on the street is fair game for a photo. It's incumbent on the subject to realize they're on a public thoroughfare, and on the photographer to maintain a respectful distance and manner.

That isn't what I'd call haggard. It's what a person looks like when they aren't sprayed and shellacked and draped with insanely expensive clothes (although I'm guessing they are a lot pricer than my casual jeans and tops -- that's a lovely shirt). And she isn't smiling fot the camera. Some people on these sites need to take a look in the mirror and remember what they look like.

I'd bet a great deal that Johnny's looks are genetic -- for years he partied like a rock star and has credited Vanessa with helping him get his shit together, I think. Certainly he didn't have it together during the Kate Moss years. He's admitted any number of times to trying every drug there is, to drinking so heavily he would completely lose it, to "poisoning" himself, etc. He clearly is his own sylist. I think he still likes his wine a lot, and he's an extremely heavy smoker -- I think he may be occasionally trying to quit, but I'm always reading about him smoking in interviews. Even if he became a health nut a couple years back, there is no way he should look that good. Smoking that heavily really ages you after a while. Hell, looking at other actors his age, he looks amazing good, so god knows.

However, I'm sure he loves to be pampered.

Seriously. It was a friend who said that to me, and I know what she meant - she wasn't being unkind or mean, just comparing Vanessa to her usually really-pretty self - but I've seen MUCH worse than that said on some of these gossip sites and such. Have you seen the extent of the rudeness that goes on in some of those place? By people who claim to be "fans?" (The thing is, somehow I suspect the people making the nastier comments are probably fucking warted trolls themselves ...)

Yes, I've seen it. People are hateful about every celebrity. It's no wonder these people get so obsessive about their looks. Seriously, I think everyone that posts on gossip sites, including the people that run them, should include candid photos of themselves. :)

The amount of celebrity gossip I follow is so minimal that this must be the first proper pic I've ever seen of Johnny's kids. Heck, I didn't even realize it was Vanessa, until reading the other comments! All photos I've seen of her have been some posh red carpet shots with her all dolled up in full make-up and designer gowns and whatnot -- quite nice to see how down-to-earth and 'normal' she really looks ;)

As for Johnny, it _is_ a mystery how a guy who turns 45 this year can look that good (no matter the money and means he has to do that). IMHO, much better now than some 15+ years ago (young Depp looks a bit too much like my cousin :p)..

She looks normal enough to me. And yes, she does look somewhat harried, but ... again ... that's pretty normal for any one of us. (Better than I look a lot of days.) I like it; it's a nice picture, it reflects well on her as a parent, and it's not peeking into someone's window or shrubbery.

They are cute, but pictures of celebrities' kids (esp in a casual, non-ocassion, not posing for the cameras take) always makes me feel squicky. It may not be legally invasion of privacy but I think their mom won't be too pleased.

Eh, I think I've been snapping public candids for work for so long that something that is casual like this, and relatively noninvasive, doesn't faze me. I've seen much worse that did squick me, but this is pretty reasonable as method and subjects go.

Aha, I knew someone would try to talk me out of the good ol' U.S. of A. Honestly, I was just going to say "OK, here's where it is, when it is, show up if you like," but I thought it might be interesting to see if there were massive numbers of people who would disagree with that location/time. I mean, it has to be something I can afford ... if I plan something I can't afford and everybody else gets to go and have fun and I can't, that's sort of self-defeating ... LOL.

The kids are adorable. My bet is that, since young Jack is looking directly at the camera, the pap said or did something to get his attention. Vanessa's look is one I interpret as very dangerous for the pap. I have seen pictures of her a couple of years ago, practically climbing up a pap and hanging on his arm to get his camera away. And no kids were involved that time - she had just had it. Pretty rough row to hoe for mom here, trying to raise two normal, healthy, well-adjusted kids.
