I need to do a rotation of my car CDs
Sep. 14th, 2009 04:40 pmYou guys ever just lost interest in something you've liked for a long time? I mean a LONG time? As in, a musical artist you've liked for 25 years or so, and then suddenly you're "meh, I can live without it"? Or anything not musical?
I recognize that my brain has had a weird year. But still. STILL. To just not really want to listen to something anymore? Bleh.
Finally, I will throw in this non-sequitir, since I don't want to make a separate big-deal post about it. Going off my friend
beldar's example, and since his birthday is so close to mine in the very near future, I have a suggestion: If any of you have a few extra dollars and feel inclined to give to a good cause and don't know which one, might I suggest either the American Cancer Society or the Be The Match Foundation? You can do it in your own name or the name of someone you know who's had cancer.
beldar's annual charity of choice is the USO, so you could donate to that instead, to help traveling and stationed soldiers.
If you don't have money and are of good health, consider donating blood, plasma, and/or platelets through your local qualified blood donation center. Mom went through gallons of all of these during her illness, and they kept her alive a lot longer than she would have been otherwise. Some of it might've even come from one of you out there in LJ Land. (I think you can give blood or platelets every 2 months, and plasma much more often than that.)
Thanks! :-)
