How times change

I was trolling a couple of old websites with J/W and other fic from 2003 and 2004, written for challenges on Yahoo and LJ, to help an f-lister with a project, and came across all kinds of old, interesting things.

A fic my co-writer and I wrote for a fellow fan with whom ties were eventually rather acrimoniously severed (remember "As Time Goes By," metalkatt?). Stories written by other old-time fans when we were all young and new to POTC, with acknowledgements and nice comments from ones to others - people I know now to not even be speaking to each other anymore. A real "soup" of POVs who respected one another's particular preferences and dabbled in writing and posting all kinds of stories. Nobody got insulted, nobody tried to insult, and enthusiasm was high.

So ... if you have any old fics you never finished from the CotBP era, or know someone who hasn't finished one, or have an idea for someone else to write, check out raise_the_dead. It'll never bring everyone together again, but it might introduce you to people you never knew ... or hook you up with a long-lost fan, somehow.
