Fabulous recommendation
Jan. 5th, 2008 04:17 amI was pointed to a story by
kahva - in the Pit of Voles, of all places! - that I truly believe SHOULD have been the two sequels to CotBP. It's a better story than what we were given, the characters are all treated with respect, there's adventure and misunderstandings and heartbreak, AND I think this would have raked in the cash. Best of all, it exemplifies everything I love most about my favorite character in the trilogy (and if you're not an Elizabeth fan, you will be; even if you're not a het reader, you'll enjoy this, trust me).
It's called The Curse of the White Sword, and the rating is no more than PG, perhaps PG-13 at some points for descriptions of violence. Except for a few typos throughout, THIS is the kind of production any serious writer should aspire to plot, IMO. (Be forewarned: This will suck you in. I fast-read through the entire thing and it still took me close on three hours. Be sure to set aside time to read, and leave feedback for the writer.)
EDIT: Relationship-wise, this story is canon-compliant with CotBP; however, like that movie (and unlike DMC), it is not slash-unfriendly. I believe in particular that Norrington fans who disliked DMC and AWE would like this story.
