Halloween festivities
Oct. 28th, 2007 01:17 amYesterday upon the stair
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today
Oh how I wish he'd go away.

Creepiest poem EVER.
Spent the day in the company of
beldar,
the_dark_snack, and
astria, among others I'm certain are on LJ and I just don't know their names. We went to the Irvington (named after Washington Irving, according to beldar) Halloween Festival and parade, lined with shops, booths, and even bookended by a Starbucks with pumpkin spice latte! *G* There were lots of animal shelter and rescue booths, and the sheer number of DOGS might explain why Sylvester isn't sitting by me too much tonight, LOL.
Then, we went to the Doctor Who group's Halloween party, at what I'll now take to calling Stately Fanboy Manor, off the owners' nickname for it. It has a huge, open two-story parlor/living room in the old style, with fan decor EVERYWHERE - Trek, Who, Dark Shadows, Three Musketeers, Star Wars, you name it, almost anything. And a HUGE 12-foot tall mirror on one wall. It was great! Sadly, I had to leave around 11 so I could get home at a decent hour, since I had an hour's drive, but I hope to get to go back again sometime.
(And I'll let dark_snack talk about her Dalek "Extermination by Chocolate" cake - which looked good, but I knew if I ate that much dark chocolate THAT late, I'd be up until 8 a.m.)
ETA: The best entry in the parade was this kid marching along in military fatigues, with ropes tied to his limbs, the other ends to a wooden crossbar above his head - like a large marionette - and he was wearing a sign on his back that read "Bush's Puppet." Easily the bravest, as well.
