"Knocked Up" DVD
Sep. 23rd, 2007 10:51 amHey,
dahlianna, do you have the "Knocked Up" DVD with all the extras, and can you do any screen grabs on your computer, either of clips or stills? I read somewhere that Orlando's on one of the extra features, some mockumentary about the making or casting of the movie.
For anyone who has high-speed or doesn't mind waiting on a short clip from YouTube, I also pulled this clip from
orlando_news of some movie he was in with Gwyneth Paltrow - apparently he's at the very end, playing her Italian boyfriend/husband who greets her coming back from a trip. (This is for all of you who miss the Hair and the Bulk. I'm looking at you,
crevette.)

Am bored. Enlighten me
Sep. 23rd, 2007 01:50 pmThis question came up from a thread discussion in a post originally at
potc_discussion and I carried it over to another community: We all know how well Elizabeth handled responsibility and command in AWE as Pirate King. And she seemed willing to do a lot in DMC to ensure Will's safety and finding him.
BUT ... how much of her actions are directly attributable to Will's actions at the end of CotBP? She obviously did not want Jack to hang, but wasn't really in a position to do anything to stop it. Now, not only did Will carry out the action, allowing her to participate (distracting by fainting, stepping between Norrington and Jack, too), but he announced his love for her publicly and perhaps at a very inopportune moment for everyone else. Had he not done these things, would she have watched Jack hang and still married Norrington, you think? Or would she have found her way out to sea anyway and ended up in such a position of eventual power? (And how well would she have done without a good swordfighting instructor?)
If you've already commented elsewhere, you don't have to do so again. I know I have Elizabeth fans who read and I'm just curious to see how many are willing to acknowledge that she didn't spring fully-formed from the head of Zeus with a sword in one hand and a shotgun in the other. Everyone needs help from somewhere - I believe she got hers from watching Will and that Will got his from watching Jack. (As I said elsewhere, you can't really say that Elizabeth got any boost from Jack, since she'd read about him as a child and meeting him is really akin to a Christian running into Jesus Christ - there's no room for conversion.)
