It's much harder to have faith in your fellow human being than in any deity. Maybe that's the definition of "faith" after all.

I had hoped my fellow citizens would opt for logic and sense, and a record of evidence when voting - not a false image of morality and character. I still have that hope; not everything is lost.

But there's an awful lot of red on my TV screen ...

That didn't surprise me. I can't say I think gay marriage will ever be accepted in this country; I just didn't want a constitutional amendment to ban it. It's unnecessary and oppressive, especially when considering what the document is for.
