Has anyone heard *anything* about THIS? (Link takes you to a "spoiler" on Rotten Tomatoes - I'm going to make you click so as to "protect" you from a spoiler if you're avoiding *G*.) Personally, I'm not sure if I believe it, but it'd be a scream if it were true.

Talk about milking "canonicity" to death if it happens. LOLOLOLOLOL .....

Sadly, a full-on snog doesn't seem very likely at all. As it is, I wonder if this is some kind of chinese-whispers rumour based on the 'rolling around' scene in the 100 pager. Hell, I'd still be ecstatic if something even approaching that happened.
Hmm though I do seem to remember seeing an interview with Orlando a while back where he said that Johnny kept trying to kiss him... 0_o

Well, I doubt it'd be as good as their first kiss YOU recently wrote - but you could rewrite what you see onscreen, slow it down for interior monologue, all that good stuff ....

Ha! Yep, because if that was on the DVD, it would be for writing research purposes ONLY that I kept running it back, then slow advancing it frame by frame, with occasional tasteful uses of the pause and zoom facility.

I'd say it's probably a false rumour, at least partly because the "Little Mermaid poster penis" thing has been debunked on Snopes.com. As they pointed out, the tower in the poster is the one on the castle in the movie, so unless you start with the assumption that all towers are really disguised penises, there's no basis for saying they "added" it to the poster as an in-joke.

So if the person still believes that rumour, odds are their current one isn't any more reliable.

I could see Johnny doing it as a joke on-set, maybe even during a take, but I have a lot more difficulty seeing Disney putting it in the extras of a PG-13 movie, even as part of the blooper reel or an easter egg.

That is the best rumor I have heard yet. *prays for it* ...who knows....maybe Disney will try and change with the times and make their family friendly movies friendly to alternative families too? *wishful thinking*

And yeah, that is totally something Johnny would do. With the way Orlando talks about Johnny, I have no doubt he would agree to it. Gore would bust a gut laughing. As would most of the cast....really....the only thing stopping it is the Disney big wigs (and possibly Jerry since he seems to have a stick up his....oh and what was that about BIGGER and BETTER?!)

I think these two would gladly film a kiss scene if they thought it would work in the overall plot or as a passable joke. Then again, I think if "Friends" could justify same-sex kissing (and did it a few times over the years, actually), I see no reason Disney couldn't do the same for a laugh.

There is no reason, except for Disney's fear of not making the most money it can. (Though if this scene made it I would go back again and again just to see it!)

Sadly, they would lose a portion of their audience. Outraged parents. The kids wouldn't care of even necessarily understand. And everyone else would find it either hilarious or hot. But that small portion, they like to kick up a big fuss, and that is what Disney would want to avoid. We needed maybe 10 more years to pass. At least. Before the film industry lightens up.

But I am still gonna hold out hope :D If nothing else, on the DVD would be good enough for me!

I check Sparrabeth regularly for spoilers and photos I don't see elsewhere first. That's my dirty secret for the month (though probably not so secret except maybe for the reason). I'm smart. I keep my mouth shut. Mostly. Yeah, mostly. LOL.

Don't worry about it. Sometimes, I post something just to get yelled at. I think it keeps me in practice for my real job. (You know, one of those things you apparently don't have?)

Let me tell you what I think will happen either right before or right after AWE: The same kind of split in fandom 10 months ago will occur in J/E between those who can accept it's not onscreen, and those who can't but still want to 'ship it (in other words, those who don't move on to the newest shiny thing). That is, of course, presuming it ends non-J/E. They'll start their own community with a much smaller breakaway membership where they can say absolutely anything about anyone they like - who they don't like, actually - and I guarantee if this happens, sparrabeth will be uppermost in their commentary.

We had this happen about 2 1/2 years ago at childfree. There were posters who took offense to others making dead baby jokes and rejoicing in news reports of kids buying the big farm - and *they* dared to point out the name of the community was "childfree," not "childhaters." Well, those who felt they were being "dictated" to took their toys off and created cf_hardcore - where most of the discussion was about dead babies AND how ebil and MEANZ we were for asking them to shut the morbid hell up and quit giving us a bad name.

(There is a happy ending. Not only did they end up having flame wars in there all the time, it was suspended several times by LJ administration. And <lj comm="childfree" is still in existence as only a mildly parentaphobic community. *G*)

It really seems like the kerfluffle comes from just four or five people. To a certain extent I wonder if I didn't make it all an even bigger deal by posting about it, but I still think it needed to be said. The things that have been said about/to me by those people hardly bother me--more funny than anything else--because I can't find it in me to regret a thing I said or even the way I said it, authoritarian or not. It's easy to be thick-skinned when you're sure that you're right. *g*

It would be really nice if those people would do the rest of us a favor by segregating themselves. Maybe I should keep oppressing them with my Dictatorship of Snark and Reason until they do so.

Damn it Disney, sure the conservatives kick up a lot of dust about the slightest hint of a same-sex whatever* but you're a SUPERPOWER! You hold marriage ceremonies for both straight and gay couples at your theme parks and support the Gay Day held there as well! Have some freaking balls!

But I know they won't. I know they won't because if I know that I can't be disappointed when it doesn't happen. (I may, perhaps, still at least wish for an Easter Egg feature. Just because apparently I haven't learned my lesson yet.)

Sundry politICKs out of the way, I've suddenly realized my brain should be leaking out my ears from the hot. I can't even- what would WILL'S reaction be?? XD I can see Jack, looking all smug and somehow coy at the same time (whatever, he's Capn. Sparrow, he can manage it) and totally scorching my eyebrows with the hotness, but Will? I like to think he'd manage "adorably flustered" or something. Teehee, oh my heart's all aflutter!


* Even I can realistically look at that scenario and admit it doesn't have to particularly indicate that Jack actually fancies men, or Will for that matter, and know they'll still be like, "NAY IT IS UNNATURAL THAT TWO MENS' LIPS SHOULD TOUCH AND NOW THE GAY BANDIDOS WILL BEFALL US ALL!!"
