Just thought you might want to know that the tidbit about the Jane mag readers' poll was in my local paper today, so the word is getting out there. It wasn't even in the real newspaper, but the one they hand out on the metro for free, which *everybody* who takes public transit reads.
I'm telling you, there's hope. The movement's growing.
Although, it is a bit disheartening when the actual writers of the film don't even believe in their own symbolism re: Elizabeth's need for freedom in her actions and adventure in her life, for which Jack is a *metaphor*. Maybe they haven't ever heard of metaphors. Wouldn't surprise me at this point.
Oh, they've heard of metaphors--Jack explaining to Liz that Pearl is freedom. They just have the intelligence level of wet sawdust, and let their hardon for Keira dictate their crappy scriptwriting.
I'm not into actual fandom RPS, but as part of a comedy monologue, THIS was funny: http://jaekayelle.livejournal.com/63334.html
I hold out hope that the writers are just feeding overzealous fans this stuff in an attempt to throw them off while they write a kickass ending to the triology. There are SO many double meanings in both these movies so far (especially DMC) that I have to believe at least some of them are intentional, so maybe metaphors ARE respected.
Got to ask you if you saw this. In the beginning of the flick, it seemed to me, when Will and Elizabeth were arrested, Beckett looked like he wanted nothing more than to kiss Will. He kept getting closer and closer... "Kiss him already!" actually popped in my head and I'm not a slasher in the least!!!
