I could go on and on about my dislike for J/E, but I'd honestly just be ranting, and plus I tend to make fellow J/W fans look bad. But, even if I wasn't for that pairing, I still wouldn't be fond of J/E, because like you said, they are way too much alike and there's so fun in it.
Haha, the ending makes me giggle, because you'd totally think Will would be angry at both Elizabeth and Jack, yet you can tell there's still an eagerness about saving Jack. So precious.
And about the heterosexualizing of Jack, I have to agree. Jack's known business with the Tortuga women was quite enough for us to realize part of his sexuality, and I really didn't see the point of this J/E thing. I'd take a kiss between Jack and a new female mildly well, but Elizabeth is just... ugh.
