Fortunately, there's little chance of the amendment getting past Congress, or you'd be hearing it from me, too, over in my lj. In fact, I may say something anyway.
Seriously, though, I don't think the ptb (not GW, but the powers behind him) could care less about gay marriage. They're just using this carrot as bait to get the conservative radicals back on their side. Thing is, it could backfire just as easily.
