Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] haldir_fancier:

Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random.
Step 2: Post the first line(s) from the first 30 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Bold out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 5: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!

Sadly, not either one. (Now, if #25 IS Eminem in some way - I mean the original song from which it came.) Although, you do have the right artist for #8 ...

You're just annoyed that it's mostly crappy 80s and 90s music you don't listen to. *G*

(Actually, for me, it's called *How can I distract my brain while it comes up with the right opening paragraph for an article about 20-some-odd people killed in a tornado last weekend?*)

Fortunately, I don't live anywhere near it - I'm clear on the other side of the state. Writing about disasters as news stories ... I won't say it doesn't bother me, but it's sort of like being a doctor, in that after so seeing/hearing so many things over the years, you get to a point where it doesn't bother you as much. What the problem turns *into* is trying to write it so that other people care, with just enough details and style to make it interesting, without descending to a level that makes it overblown and maudlin. THAT is the part I was having problems with last night. Sad stuff happened and no matter how you show it, it's sad stuff.

10. Nine Inch Nails, The Perfect Drug - I know the song, but is that the title?
12. Reminds me of an Evenascence lyric, but can't place the song.
25. Dammit, I can sing the opening verse but can't think who or what it is! It's an early-90s band/dance act.

#10 is correct (sort of helps when the first line is the song title, lol). For #12, you're off-base, but it is a female singer - perhaps THE modern female singer. #25, keep trying - you'll think of it!

9. Kim Wilde - (You Just) Keep Me Hanging On (or is it the Diana Ross version?)
13. Teena Marie - Lovergirl
14. Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt - All There Is To Know (I think that's the title)
24. The Eagles - I Can't Tell You Why
25. Soul II Soul - Back to Life

A couple of others look familiar, but I can't place them.

All are correct! (Except for #14, which is "Don't Know Much," but you were impressively close so I gave it to you.)

The rest of that sentence was going to be "...and no, I am *not* going to write it myself."

Actually, I did give it some thought, but aside from a few very lame jokes/puns, I couldn't come up with anything worth reading. Sorry. :(

I wouldn't even know how to begin writing bird slash, and I'm not sure I want to learn.

I will, however, continue to try to finish some of my unfinished stories (starring the human versions) before the next movie comes out and messes up my continuity.
