"Foxtrot" is probably one of the consistently funniest strips. One of my favorites (and I can't find it) was Jason and his dumb older brother having a contest at dinner going back and forth "I can eat that meal in XX bites!" until the brother ends up with "one bite!" at which point Jason challenges him to do it.
When I was in college, I loved "Bloom County." The one I remember most, that I pasted on my dorm room door for months, was several frames of the dog arranging some bones and a skull of some sort next to the empty food dish, which you don't figure out until the last frame, when this kid is standing in the doorway staring at it and yelling "WHO FORGOT TO FEED THE DOG?!?"
