I liked that part, too, and was wondering the same thing. Note the cat was smart enough to never take its eyes off the gator so it showed no weakness

There's a reason cats are fabulous hunters, one of the best in the animal kingdom. They are FOCUSED - whether it's a croc or a toy mousie, LOL.

What this actually made me think of was the Animorphs book where a couple of Yeerks expressed dismay that cats wouldn't make suitable hosts because they're such gloriously fearless little pissants and how sad that we can't be cats.

It's why I love them so. Though I think my little girl cat is a bit slow in the head, cause she's really bad at being a cat, but very good at being an adorable goofball.
