I finally watched Jane Eyre, and I have to say that to me Rochester isn't the problematic person, but Jamie Bell (St. John) is. Funnily I also had completely forgotten about that character, so this was a bit of an unexpected revelation. I don't think that I personally know any 'Rochester characters' (to put it that way), so I can easily sum them up as 'Bryonic' in a Literature-Category and leave them there. Aside from this, I agree that Michael Fassbender did a good job. It's not his fault that I think this is one case where I prefer my eye candy *not* to be wrapped up in period clothing *G*
