I'm not asking for an edit at all. XD I tend to give everything a close reading, and my brain just reached that sentence and stuck there while emitting strange clicking sounds.
The argument in the piece overall seems to be that nothing at all should have authority over the market. I'd think if science were being given an exception, even such a limited one, he'd go into more detail about it. My assumption was that he forgot a negative in the first half of the sentence.
Are they really the same people? That is a little bit terrifying.
