Some days my job is surreal

Am doing a story on something. Had to call a Mr. Turner to get a comment.

I get his spokesman instead, to interview. A Mr. Bloom.

No, I am not making this up.

I will not get any work done the rest of the day from laughing. That is all.

I asked for the guy's press secretary, and the fellow answering the phone says, "All right, let me see if he's in." I asked for a name so I don't answer going "hey you" and he says, "XXX Bloom."

To my credit, I didn't even ask him to repeat himself. He put me immediately on hold for about 30 seconds, during which time I covered the mouthpiece (just in case) and laughed my fool ass off.

No, he had the very slow voice of the habitually misquoted. I think he was speaking into a tape recorder so he could compare it later to what I write. *sigh*
