So, Penelope Cruz has been cast as Jack Sparrow's possible love interest in POTC4.

And?

I'm sure Nell will be vastly entertaining in her role; I'm sure whatever sexual tension or hijinks get up between her character and Jack will be sexy and hilarious. She might even be the love of his life. (I might even care to see it if I weren't still annoyed with Johnny for trying to pass Roman Polanski off as a harmless old man. Way to think of the welfare of all those young teenage girls who think you hung the moon, dude.) Won't change my 'ship. It was never canon to begin with, and I'd be sort of alarmed if Ted and Terry tried to make J/W canon, seeing as they apparently can't finish what they start with other people's 'ships.

At least Will won't be around this time - Orlando has lots of other projects lined up. What will fandom do without its whipping-boy, I wonder? ;-)

Leaving for more possibilities for those of us who prefer the first movie to all the subsequent ones. I'm rather neutral on the whole Polanski thing. What he did was wrong but he did spend the required 40-some days in a mental facility as determined by a court of law and he is, essentially, exiled from the US. Good riddance. I'm looking forward to the fourth movie but not with the same eagerness I was looking forward to DMC (pre-spoilers). I'm going to miss Will but not Liz. I just hope somebody is strong enough to keep Johnny and Geoffrey in check or they'll spend a ton of money just keeping the scenery in tact.:)

There's a great line on the cast commentary of one of the Red Dwarf episodes that I think may apply here, Craig Charles on Chris Barrie: "He's like a ham and cheese sandwich without the bread and cheese." ;-)

And maybe you could do an obdiscussion post about them?

Personally, I'm looking forward to Ian McShane as Blackbeard. Bloody brilliant piece of casting. Now if I could only get Disney convinced that they need Anne Bonney. It could be a serious twist if Scarlet became a pirate. :)

As for Orlando, I wish one of his indie movies would be released already. I'm going through withdrawal.
