I have managed to find a few books through my local Goodwill that I've been looking for, very cheap. I also put together a makeshift "sushi set" for some friends as a gift for Christmas. I keep my eye out for possible gifts through the year, there and at discount retail stores like TJ Maxx and Marshall's, too.
