Oh, Trek bitching ...
May. 23rd, 2013 04:52 pmThe hair-tearing and clothes-rending that has resulted from the new Star Trek movie has given a lot of people a lot of joy to do what they enjoy most - formless bitching.
No, I'm not talking about people questioning why a white actor was cast to fill a certain role; it's a legitimate enough question. I'm not even talking about those pointing to Uhura yet again and how she was underused (mainly because I don't entirely disagree with them - but my complaint was more specific, i.e. her and Spock's couples behavior (there's no spoiler here if you saw the 2009 Trek movie - and if you haven't yet, that's your fault. I don't observe spoilers for four years). I had little to no quarrel with how she did her job or the importance of it.
No, I'm referring to another female character. ( Okay, now I WILL hide for spoilers )
