ATTENTION YOU MAD RUSSIAN BASTARDS
Jan. 4th, 2013 05:22 pmWhat the fuck, LJ? This is the worst I've seen it and still (barely) functional in like, ever. If I weren't paying for the service, I wouldn't have much right to complain, but I am, and, well ... I AM.
Here's a tip, LJ maintainers, owners, whomever: QUIT ADDING NEW WIDGETS TO THE SERVICE. JUST STOP IT. Seriously, I got by pretty damn well when I started this journal 10 years ago, and the only fancy-dan feature I ever wanted was HTML coding (which it had) and userpic add-ons (which it also had). For instance, I went to post this entry and I'm faced with a brand-new format for doing so THAT I NEVER ASKED FOR AND DON'T NEED.
I know those of you employed by LJ have to justify your paycheck somehow, but instead of adding all kinds of new bells and whistles nobody needs, how's about you focus on optimizing server space, or making the basic features work better - or, at this point, removing some of these bells and whistles causing the slowdown in posting, replies, and just plain accessing the damn pages in the first place?
If I can post this on the first try without having to copy and repaste and retry, it'll be a miracle.
