Writer's Block: Planet friendly

Warning: Everything below is my untrained scientific opinion. However, do bear in mind I'm not a child nor a completely uneducated git.
Well, let's see ... how concerned am I about earthquakes? Volcanoes? Floods? Tsunamis? Intercepting asteroids?
To me, global warming, or any kind of climate change, is up there with these items: In the category of "sure, it worries me - I have to live here too! - but its not likely I can do a damn thing to reverse it." Why not ask me how I feel about Snowball Earth (when a mile-thick sheet of ice encased the planet during one of its Supercontinent phases)? Look around - we don't have that now. That's because geothermal energy built and built until it blew off the ice. The resulting pressure was also enough to blast the supercontinent apart on continental plates. (Before you say "that's just a theory," keep in mind that so is everything else we surmise before written human history began, and even some things after that. It is the best theory we have for now to fit evidence of that time period in our planet's history.)
And yet - no scientist that I have read has even brought up increased seismic activity being linked with escape of geothermal energy and gases into the atmosphere, which you would think *might* affect the ambient temperature of the planet's surface. No, instead, it's all down to 100-some-odd years of factory and car smoke, in the history of a planet where ice ages have come and gone ("gone" meaning "warming" - the opposite of ice) for millennia of millennia.
We should concentrate on cutting car and factory emissions for the simple reason that those gases IMMEDIATELY endanger human and animal lives, and quit trying to give it some great spin that sounds better on a History Channel special. Period. Nothing has killed this planet in 45 million centuries and WE'RE going to do it?
