It's aimed at writers, but really, anyone could listen to it and get something out of it, IMO:



I especially like her casual aside to how all Americans are serial killers - it's totally tongue-in-cheek, but it illustrates the point about how if you believe there's only ONE story that covers an entire culture, you're badly underinformed.

I hope as I approach death (hopefully not for a few decades, though) that my regrets will continue to be in things I said and did, not in what I DIDN'T do. I haven't published even one book yet, and that's really my only non-doing regret. I grew up in a family that had been in the same town for 150 years, and I knew THAT wasn't what I wanted, nor the attitude of "let's just let things happen to us" with it.
