Ideas I got for POTC fanfics that haven't been written (well, to my knowledge), while reading the trivia pages for all 3 movies at IMDB. Note that I make no statement as to whether these bits of trivia are actually bits of TRUTH (it's like those "Real Facts" sites that tell you ducks can't cry and nobody knows why - it's just fun to read despite the questionable veracity):
1. Trivia: In an early version of the script, on the DVD commentary, they state that Norrington was to ask Elizabeth to marry him and she says no. Enraged by this Norrington was going to join Barbossa and the two of them were going to try take over the Caribbean. However this script was turned down.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA .... *deep breath, resume* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Conclusion: That should SO be a story.
2. Trivia: For a dose of authenticity in the final twist at the end of the film, the actors were not told, prior to filming, that Geoffrey Rush would be appearing in the movie. They were told, before the scene was shot, that the person coming down the stairs would be Anamaria from The Curse of the Black Pearl; the looks of surprise on their faces as Rush descends are genuine.
Now aside from being an insult to the actors in that scene (what, you have to REALLY surprise them to get a surprised reaction?), this is bogus for one other reason: Their genuine reactions. Look at their faces - those are not the faces of people surprised to see a beloved surprise ex co-worker. Those are the faces of actors in character, reacting to another character - an odious character who frightens and angers their characters. (Not to mention, is back from the dead.)
Conclusion: A fic with Anamaria guiding the characters to World's End, instead of Barbossa, would've been totally HOT. Imagine the sexual tension among Anamaria and Will and Tia and Elizabeth.
3. Trivia: During the course of the movie Elizabeth claims to have learned swordsmanship from Will. Later on she pulls a sword stunt hitting two enemies backwards which was actually played by Orlando Bloom as Legolas in "Lord of the Rings".
Conclusion: Isn't it obvious? Elizabeth is descended from Legolas, just like Will is. A fic where they discover this, as well as the fact that through a convoluted series of shags, Jack Sparrow is father to both of them, would be tres interesting. (OT3? Try OHMYGEE.)
Real stuff
WHAT is up with the Burger King ad people? First they give us The Subservient Chicken. Next, we get the Burger King, a severely inbred SOB who reminds me of a cross between syphilis and Alice Cooper's mental hospital. And now there's a "Baby Got Back" pastiche involving the King and Spongebob Squarepants? On commercials? ON PURPOSE TO SELL THE FOOD?
