Some home truths likely to lose me popularity:
Why are the Democrats at the federal level simpering and kissing ass to the Republicans to get their permission to pass a stimulus bill - or anything, for that matter - when the numbers show they clearly don't need it? The Republicans sure didn't care whether the Democrats agreed with them for eight years, except as their votes were needed at those times the Republicans weren't an assured enough majority to screw up the country carte blanche. In fact, what is the point in aiming for a compromise when there are so many skeptical you should even have your job in the first place? I'm afraid if I were Obama, I'd tell far too many people to suck on it and take a good hard look at which party was elected to the majority in 2008 and 2006 (what was it Bush and the Republicans called it when it was in their favor? "Political capital." "A mandate." Yeah, that thing).
This is why I should never be president, I suppose.
Why is it that all the good weather in the country is in The South (I've done time there; I wouldn't again unless I were forced into it), and all the places I like are stuck in Snowland?
