Now, on the flip side ....

What is up with all the (supposedly) male commenters at IMDB bitching about "Sex and the City?" Can't a girl surf over and just get some spoilers about the movie without some guy getting all up in her stuff about how the show has singlehandedly destroyed women's expectations of men (best response ever: "Yeah - women might expect ORGASMS now."), made them bitchier - and then calling for a return to 1958? O.O

And then just for good measure, there's a 15-year-old girl (supposedly) whining about how no other generation has EVER faced the pressures her generation does for sex. Girl, get off the cross and donate the wood to a campfire - women 100 years ago got more pressure to just give in and "do it" than you do. At least you can say "Back off, Turd - Shorty don't play that game" and go get an education.

Yes, I loved this show. It was pure fantasy, yet it did more for giving women a positive view of their own screw-ups and foibles than any Grapefruit Porn (my term for fake-lesbo action - check out those tits) ever will - and trust me, the latter rakes in more cash yearly on the free market than SatC DVD box sets do. It also sparked more feminist discussion among the mixed-gender group of us who used to watch it every Sunday evening at my friend Tammy's house.

I'm not sure what's worse - extreme feminism or knuckle-dragging misogyny. Hellloooo? Is there nobody who walks a little closer to the center yellow line anymore?
