Really, if I were a sane follower of Islam, I think I'd go hide somewhere for a while. I give the rest of you the same "Dumbasses!" I give evangelical Christian churches for jumping into the political process. (And why was the teacher jailed? Why wasn't the child executed? Bad acolyte!)
Speaking of the latter, I see where an Iowa senator is conducting an investigation into megachurches and their spending, whether they're abusing their tax-exempt status and the ministry is living too extravagantly. My response? I laughed my ass off. (You want to be involved in politics? Do you really? Okay - this is what happens when you try to dictate to people to vote for Bush or anyone else in Jesus's name. Bring on the spotlight! Karma's a great thing. Thanks for the entertainment, God.)
If you are a patron of the home-improvement megastore Home Depot, you might want to reconsider your patronage. The chain is shutting down customer call centers here in the U.S., reportedly with no severance package for the layoffs, and reportedly channeling that money into the retail side of their business. (Translation: About to go belly-up because nobody can afford new houses anymore, and needing to patch a fountain?) I say give them as little help as possible.
