It's the weekend, and between my new medication and all this meta yadda swirling around, my brain has been working again on an original-fic idea I had a few years ago that makes use of both dominant male and female characters. Seeing as discussion is sometimes the best way to make that spongy stuff between my ears work - and we've got the time - would anyone like to say what you think of females and males in both existing and speculative (not sci-fi, but unwritten) fiction? Portrayals, opinions, specific suggestions? Motivations, rewards, punishments? Feel free to not focus on gender if you just want to lay out what makes a good/bad character. I won't give you a beginning statement, because I don't want anyone to feel obligated to back-slap and "WORD" me to death. This isn't cheer camp; it's brainstorming.
