Yet another of them goldarned gender rants

I wonder, what is apparently wrong with me that I'm one of the few females on LJ who doesn't rage against the machine that not all female characters in fiction are universally regarded as awesomely supreme and deserving of worship?

I mean, honestly. What happened to a character *earning* my pseudo-worship instead of being automatically entitled to it based on gender?
