1. Total number of books I own: Well, I've sold many bags to the used bookstore, McKay's, over the past three years, but I easily still have several hundred. (I tend to get a lot at the library to save money, so that's not indicative of my reading habits.)
2. Last book I bought: "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" by Kim Harrison
3. Last book I read: Cover to cover? "The Killing Dance" by Laurell K. Hamilton
4. 5 books that mean a lot to me:
Any title by Erma Bombeck - This was my first foray into adult humor when I was a kid, and I started reading her at age six because Grandma liked her.
"Memnoch the Devil" and "Servant of the Bones" - Well, TWO, but they're both first-edition hardcovers signed by Anne Rice, whom I met and spoke with during both signings (ah, the days when I could afford such things).
"20,001 Baby Names" - This is where I get names for characters I write, a lot of times. Has background on what the names mean and what culture they are, as well.
Just about anything by James Michener - This is how I get my geography and history lessons, I swear to God.
"Baby Animals" - Hard, cardboard-paged book I still have around here (somewhere). First book I ever memorized and learned to read from, when I was three, thanks to Grandma.
