I was at the local Steak-n-Shake today to take advantage of their $2.99 special because I left work early (which, I wasn't supposed to be there, but I was at a meeting yesterday and couldn't get to the office, and had to finish the magazine today). So I'm with the laptop, trying to write my potcfest story and these two people come up to me and comment on the POTC stickers on the cover of the computer. They stood there and talked for a few minutes about liking POTC and X-Men and indicated they are local college students. They said something about going to movies and such, so I gave one my business card and the girl seemed all excited to do something at some time. I may never hear from them again, but it was nice to have people come up to me instead of having to go try to go out and find people to talk to in this strange town, for a change.

Alas, I may not see a human for the next four days. I have somehow committed myself to at least 3-4 articles by Monday.

What was funny is the woman came up to me first and talked to me, and the guy was at the register paying, and she was gesturing at him. "Well, he didn't like the last one, can you imagine?" and then she called him over and asked him, and he says something like, "Well, the first one was good ..." LOL

You know, astria has a friend who lives there. He wants us all to get together sometime so you could meet her. He thinks you would probably hit it off pretty well. Still, yay for opportunities!
