"surely he can't be the first man who kissed her romantically" It would really depend on the size of the social circle(s) available in Port Royal. (Very small, I'm guessing.) And she would surely have been chaperoned if she did have "dates," considering her age and station. the_dala even suggested that the biggest reason Papa Swann was letting the marriage to Will happen (besides the fact that she obviously has him wrapped around her pinky) is that her time "alone" with "pirates and sundry" would have soured her reputation (iow: time to marry her off, and quickly).

I love Cusack. (Though he always plays the same character. :-p) I may or may not go see it, based on this review. The combo of John and S.J. might be worth the cheezy horror....
