Barbossa is like my favorite uncle in this movie. Death really has altered his priorities - or at least his nature, which doesn't seem nearly as nasty and bloodthirsty as it was. Maybe death reverts you to your old self before you were so far corrupted? (Hmmmm ... fic idea for Will having to ferry dead Davy Jones to the Other Side ...)
