o_O Wow. I never thought I could get more nauseas after seeing a televangelist selling a glow in the dark anointed cross nightlight on late night tv, but you know? This is MUCH worse.
And I am the first to jump on the merchandising bandwagon (Disney whore that I am), but some things should not be fodder for capitalism. (Sure a chunk of it is going to the survivors. After 100 other people take their percentage - leaving some microscopic amount, if that.)
I agree with everyone else who said it's commercial, and insensitive, and obviously taking advantage of our bleedin Amer'can hearts, but did you see in the description where it said the gold and silver was recovered from the ruins?! My first thought was "that was somone's fillings!!" not to mention valuables of hundreds of dead people. Ew. Fucking scavengers.
I saw the commercial a while back and thought I was going to puke on myself. I think they started the T.V. spots about a month ago. Either way, it is disgusting. I know of some people that would call it un-American to not purchase one, but I think it is too horrific to have something like that in your possession.
And, I think you are right about where the gold and silver was recovered. I read somewhere, a while ago, that the crews doing the cleanup found government vaults in the basement.
